Hi Dan,
Thanks for your comments Daan. I&#039;ve got a spiral bound notebook too. I call mine Stanley and make a point of leaving coffee rings and tearing its pages, a strategy to encourage myself to write whatever comes into my head regardless of how strange or silly the thoughts might be. But I don&#039;t think stroking the cat should be ignored. My cat thinks it&#039;s one of the most important things a human can do. It&#039;s right up there with opening cans.]]></description>

It helped me to use the blogging as an avoidance of other things I could/should be doing, like getting on with my novel. It also helps that all my writing is in an A5 spiral-bound journal that goes everywhere with me, so I can make use of those momentary windows of inspiration and clarity. I try to ignore the dragons, like sun beckoning me out, the dog whining to be taken out, the cat wanting stroking, the... Oh! Blast! My toast is burning.]]></description>
