You are right on almost all accounts as to the reasons for writing. May I add a view more points?

Writing also forces you to clarify our thoughts. How else could we put issues into words. That act, in turn, make us face uncomfortable subjects, things we tried to suppress because they may be painful to look at or we are afraid to face. But facing and clarifying issues is a first and necessary step to coming to terms with painful issues and start the healing process.

Also, writing gets those issue out of us and on paper, usually a non threatening receiver. And we may see that the world is not coming to an end, i.e. we can handle things when we face our uncomfortable issues. dWe have banned it on paper, away from us.

By the way, good things want to be share just as much as bad things. We are social animals after all.

Happy creative writing,
