Has breast cancer touched your life in some way? Perhaps you've battled it personally, or are family to or the friend of somebody who has. Or maybe you're a carer, such as a nurse, doctor, or counsellor, and have dealt with it on a professional level.

Busybird Publishing & Design is looking for factual stories about breast cancer for a new collection entitled 'Journey'. Through 'Journey' we're hoping to raise awareness, offer insight, and help others through the strength of sharing.

So perhaps you have a story, a journey, you would like to share. It could be an essay or a memoir, or take the form of a journal, or a poem. It could be about your experience (or experiences) overall, or about just one facet of it (or them). Feel free to be as creative as you like.

Remuneration will be contingent upon the level of grants received, but a percentage of proceeds from the completed book will be donated to breast cancer foundations.

'Journey' is tentatively scheduled for an October 2011 publication.

-- 8,000 word maximum. Please query for anything longer.
-- use a Serif font, such as Times New Roman, Palatino Linotype, Georgia, etc.
